Cid Ferreira Gomes (April 27, 1963) is a Brazilian politician who serves as a Senator for the state of Ceará since 2019.[1] He is a member of the Democratic Labour Party (PDT).

Gomes is the former Governor of Ceará.[2] During his governorship, his deputy governor was Francisco José Pinheiro. On January 1, 2015 he was named Minister of Education of Brazil in the cabinet of Dilma Rousseff, and served until March 18 of that same year. On February 19, 2020, Cid was shot after driving a bulldozer into a group of military police officers during a demonstration in Sobral, Ceará. [3]
